We have a Verizon tripple play package that gives us phone, dsl internet, and directtv satellite. I hope to be able to investigate ways to get off Verizon totally as we spend quite a bit on the phone service, and barely if ever get calls from anyone besides our parents, and a few friends. Most of them call on a cellphone.
For this we have a few options which I think would be quite good.

Well I decided to add 20 more shares of Evergreen Solar, did that yesterday at about 7.9 a share. Should have waited till today since it is down to about 7.50ish. My goal for ESLR is to get upwards of 100 shares. Make 20% off it and then get out. So far I have 55 shares, with an average cost of about 9.06 not including commissions. With any luck I'll be able to pick up a few more for the lower price as this stock has gone up to about $15 a share in the last few months.

Well one day after I mentioned about the Hoovervilles, the US Investment firm Bear Sterns has collapsed. From what I can tell it looks as though if Bear Sterns were to collapse it would put other US banks at risk because it would have to sell off its assets at a much lower rate, further lowering asset values of the other banks. We're talking assets like mortgages and things. That is probably the biggest news here today.

I feel like I'm sitting here observing the collapse of the American economy. The subprime market has collapsed which has spilled over to the credit market. Actually the issue isn't so much the subprime but the credit market in my opinion that is the problem. Banks just passed out tons and tons of money on credit bia loans to people who could not afford to take the loans that were given. They got greedy. These banks that were responsible for this will most likely get bailed out by ...
